Kelsey Steinhauser

Kelsey received a B.A. of Photography from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI.  Kelsey is passionate about wildlife and nature photography, as well as abstract and mixed media.  Kelsey has spent her years after University focusing on her personal life and working solely on freelance work. 

Art and photography has always played a large part in Kelsey's life, from when she carried around a plastic film camera around her neck everywhere she went, to interning with Lucio Patone of SoWire Studios and Alessandro Bencini in Florence, Italy.  Kelsey is also a musician and plays the flute, which was her inspiration for her Musictography series.  Kelsey is mesmerized by the beautifully complicated messiness of life.  Her landscape and nature photography aims to give spectators refuse, while her abstract and mixed media work aims to give context to this weird and strange life.

Currently, Kelsey is based in New York City.  She loves to venture upstate to hike or kayak, ride the Cyclone at Coney Island, or wander around Prospect Park to find a good bench in the sunshine to read.  Kelsey is obsessed with her two nephews back in Michigan, and tries to visit them as much as possible. She lives with her best friend and two very spoiled cats in Flatbush, Brooklyn.
